This watch was created to endure the harshest cold environments and was fully tested during the 8-day "The Baikal Project" motorbike expedition across the fragile ice of Lake Baikal in February 2020. Designed specially for this expedition and in collaboration with VE brand ambassador Karolis Mieliauskas, this watch embodies the spirit of adventure and resilience.

During the journey, constant danger was ever-present, even basic human tasks — sleeping, eating, and washing — becoming extreme challenges. Success depended on Karolis' inventive expertise, physical endurance, and relentless problem-solving.

"The Baikal Project" edition features a durable K1 crystal, blue PVD-coated 47 mm case, and an ice-inspired dial with SuperLuminova markings on the hands and indixes for excelent visibility in low light. With 200-meter water resistance and precise timekeeping, this watch proved its ability to withstand relentless extremes — just like the adventurers it was created for.

An integrated solid stainless steel bracelet is also available for separate purchase.

Lake Baikal holds nearly one third of the World’s freshwater. That is the magnitude of this natural frozen wonder. With depths of over 1.6 km (1 mile) and almost 800 km (500 miles) in length this frozen icescape experiences temperature drops as low as -20°C (-40°C at night) and at 80 km/h on a motorbike, it can feel like -60°C.
